“I am not my A.D.H.D.”

I was the kid in first grade bouncing off the walls, disrupting class, and running around. No I was not on a sugar high, I just have A.D.H.D. During first and second grade my parents decided that I should be medicated, so we tried an variety of medication to see what worked best for me. In the long run my medication has helped me greatly, focusing in class and on my school work but it has given the in people my life the idea that I can only be the energetic person that I am when I am not on my meds (which is false).

My family and friends think they can tell when I have not taken my medication, but after a routine lasting since second grade, I don’t think I would forget. I am still the kid bouncing off the walls, just more focused while doing so.
